Squamscott Community Commons

Mission: To improve the quality of community and family life by creating and maintaining an intergenerational community center that provides social, health, recreational, cultural and educational opportunities for all.

Number of People Served: 55,000 (approx.)

Communities Served: SAU 16 and surrounding Rockingham County communities

The new center will provide a neighborhood gathering place with a central location for community calendars and resource information - a virtual newcomer’s club! There will be public access to the Little River and an outdoor recreation area. The center will also provide meeting spaces and events that promote community interaction and cooperation.

Rockingham Community Action

Mission: To alleviate and prevent poverty, and to promote self-reliance.

Number of People Served: 8,000+ households/yr

Communities Served: Low-income residents of all ages in the 37 communities in Rockingham County; some programs also serve Strafford County

The Commons will serve as a new location for Women, Infants and Children program (WIC), Commodity Supplemental Food Program, Child Care Resource and Referral, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and Literacy Services.

Mission: Dedicated to providing quality early childhood education and school-age enrichment programs for children.

Number of People Served: 400+ children/yr

Communities Served: Parents with children between the ages of 2-12 years of age who live and/or work within the seacoast region.

SeaCare Health Services

Mission: Founded on the belief that our community should provide high quality equitable health care for all. Such health care encompasses those services needed to achieve complete physical, mental and social well-being. SeaCare Health Services is devoted to ensuring that all underserved members of the community have access to optimal health care.

Number of People Served: 2,000+ Individuals/yr

Communities Served: Uninsured or underinsured residents of 21 towns in SE Rockingham County


Richie McFarland Children’s Center

Mission: Serves in the early identification and treatment of developmental problems for children ages birth to three. Our goal is to help young children reach their full developmental potential and to support their families through that process.

Number of People Served: 300+ families/yr
